The McNulty Veteran Business Center, the area’s preeminent Veteran entrepreneurship resource is partnering with the Rensselaer County Veterans Resource & Outreach Center at HVCC, Albany County, and Schenectady County Veterans Peer to Peer Program to offer the Veterans’ Service2Success Resource and Job Fair.
Veterans' Service2Success provides FREE access to entrepreneurship, employment, education and benefits information for veterans and their families. Veteran services providers, employers, academic institutions, and public/private entities will exhibit for this day-long event. Featured will be informational sessions for entrepreneurial resources, Veterans’ benefits assistance, a job fair, and networking opportunities with dozens of exhibitors, and includes lunch.

The Hudson Valley Ideas Festival is an annual gathering designed to inspire intellectual exploration and public dialogue in the greater Hudson Valley community. Set at the historic Rosendale Theater, the 2024 Festival brings together prominent figures in entrepreneurship, literature, public policy, and journalism to tackle society’s most pressing issues. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with ideas that shape our future, network with fellow attendees, and participate in dialogue about the critical inflection point that we find ourselves in.
This year’s event includes Andrew Yang, entrepreneur and former presidential candidate; Stephen Dubner, host of Freakonomics; Xochitl Gonzalez, writer and screenwriter; Neil Parikh, co-founder of Casper; Coleman Hughes, writer at CNN and the Free Press; Rikki Schlott, author and journalist; and Stephen Marche, novelist and writer at The Atlantic. This event will gather the local community, students and professors, thought leaders, artists, and entrepreneurs for discussions surrounding this year’s theme – “Navigating the New Renaissance” The festival will be moderated by Carly Reilly, host of the Carly P Reilly Show. In addition to interviews and panels, the 2024 festival will provide opportunities for networking and book signings.

Introduction to Composting Saturday, May 4 at 11amConfused about the best way to deal with the organic waste your household generates? Have you tried composting in the past and been frustrated by the result? The goal of this workshop is to demystify the process and help folks set up their own backyard composting system with minimum expense and (hopefully) maximum success.This workshop will be led by Jennifer Armstrong.Jennifer Armstrong has been gardening since childhood. Making compost for the garden has always been a strong motivation, and now keeping food waste out of the landfill is an additional motivation.
