Sophia Subbayya Vastek is a Troy based composer, pianist, and self described "softie", whose music is known for being grounded in care and lyrically beautiful. Her sophomore album In Our Softening released in late 2022 and is her first collection of completely original compositions. The new album is an intimate invitation for listeners to reflect on relationships in their communities and build a deeper understanding of the world around us.
In addition to her own music, Sophia works with Organ Colossal, a Troy based nonprofit she co-founded which highlights local musicians and produces community-oriented music projects like The Lift Series.
