Listen: Local 518'er Steve Candlen is a Family (Tree) Man

He's a musical jack-of-all-trades. The kind of artist who can play every instrument. "Not well though," he says. Admittedly, "I'm a strummer and play the drums."
But he's also a musician's musician; gravitating and shining as a solo performer, while comfortable lending his talents as a supporting cast member in a full band.

Steve Candlen has been embedded in the Capital Region's musical fabric for decades. Candlen toured nationally with Felix Caveliere's Rascals from 1988 to 1996 and has been writing, singing and performing his brand of folk 'n soul rock 'n roll for quite some time.

We caught up with Steve recently to chat about Family Tree; his latest involvement with some of the Local 518's finest musicians. Steve alongside Super 400's Lori Friday (bass) and Kenny Hohman (guitar), Chris Carey (keys and synth), Chad Ploss (drums), and Rob Flemming (vocals and guitar) perform every Monday night at Putnam Place in Saratoga Springs.
