Christopher Porterfield, the singer-songwriter behind Milwaukee's Field Report, stopped by Wisconsin Public Radio's Set List recently to perform a few songs from last year's Marigolden. For this solo performance, Porterfield picks at his trusty resonator guitar and taps an array of guitar effects at his feet, creating a wash of haze and distortion beneath his acoustic folk songs.
The idea of home comes up a lot in the songs on Marigolden. Here, he describes his song "Summons" as "a song about coming home — it felt good to do a stripped-down version of it for and in Wisconsin." Watch him perform a low-key and fuzzed-out take on the song here.
