Jay Bobbin is a longtime entertainment critic in upstate New York media, as well as a nationally syndicated writer about television programs and personalities. In a sense, he has “come home” by joining  WEXT and WMHT-FM, having hosted the weekly movie series “17th Street  Theater” on WMHT-TV earlier in his career. Movies have been a lifelong  passion for Jay, who is excited and gratified by the opportunity to  bring his insight on the latest releases to our listeners.

Some years can make it challenging to whittle down the best movies to just 10, but I have to say that it came pretty easily for 2018. With that said, here are my picks, in alphabetical order.

“Black Panther”: Not only a Marvel movie, a marvel OF a movie, becoming something of a cultural milestone.

“BlacKkKlansman”: Spike Lee back at top form as a filmmaker, with the compelling true story of a policeman's Ku Klux Klan infiltration.
