Caffe Lena 60 Episode 54 2013

First Night Burlington creates a bluegrass gospel project, and a seven piece group creates a TEDx  showcasing their irresistible philosophy on jazz.

This is episode 54 of Caffe Lena: 60 Years of Song. Thank you to Sarah at the Caffe for the list of songs and artists for the feature.

Bluegrass Gospel Project is made up of members of top bluegrass bands from New England. They originally formed for a one-time First Night Concert in Burlington, VT in 2001. They continued to impress music fans with stellar vocals and powerful gospel music for 16 years before disbanding.

Sammy Miller and the Congregation have crisscrossed the country to bring art back to the people. This seven-piece group is a community of adventurous and charismatic conservatory-trained musicians who have retained their childlike wonder for playing music. They have also done an exuberant TEDx video illustrating their philosophy on jazz while showcasing their irresistible theatricality and musicality.

Caffe Lena: 60 Years of Song, a production of WEXT Radio.
