After leaving her home in the Bronx as a teenager, Alynda Segarra hitchhiked, train hopped, and made her way to New Orleans where she learned how to play music and started the band Hurray for the Riff Raff. Segarra has proven herself to be a prominent voice for a new generation of folk singer-songwriters.
