Maria Zemantauski is one of only a few female flamenco songwriters and scholars in the world. Truly a gift to the Capital Region, her flair for experimentation and pure love of the guitar takes listeners on a unique and special journey through southern Spain with every performance.
Maria's work includes five full length albums of original work, transcriptions of classic pieces and lectures on the deep cultural history of flamenco. In 2018 she even had the opportunity to speak at TEDxSchenectady. When she's not touring in places like Spain, Italy, or the United States, Zemantasuski serves as both an adjunct professor and the Coordinator of Cultural Affairs at HVCC, a role she has held since 2004.
