For a share in his profits, Mrs. Miller agrees to help plan and run McCabe's new business but soon a powerful mining company threatens to destroy what they have built up.

Unlike traditional westerns, McCabe & Mrs. Miller is not primarily about grand shootouts or heroic figures. Instead, it explores the human cost of desire, ambition and the precariousness of life.

The film’s mix of sci-fi and horror creates an unsettling atmosphere, making "The Fly" one of the era's most memorable films in the genre.

It inspired several sequels, most notably "Return of the Fly" (1959) and "The Curse of the Fly" (1965). The Crowd laughs with you always …. but it will cry with you for only a day."
King Vidor's masterpiece, The Crowd, is a landmark of Hollywood's silent era. The delirious joy and horrific sorrow of Johnny Sims (James Murray) and his beautiful Mary (Eleanor Boardman) remains intimate and touching even today. Theatergoers in 1928 were shocked by the visceral impact of this film. It is a simple story of boy meets girl, boy marries girl, love and tragedy amid the humdrum routine of daily life in the big city, told with poetic beauty and startling realism.

Andy Griffith in a role you’ll never forget, “A Face in the Crowd” is a biting social commentary on the power of television and media, exploring themes of manipulation, fame, and the American thirst for entertainment.
Directed by Elia Kazan, the story follows Larry “Lonesome” Rhodes, Andy Griffith in his first major film role. A charismatic and manipulative drifter, Rhodes’ raw, folksy charm and quick wit make him an instant hit on a local TV show, and he rapidly rises to national fame. However, as his popularity grows, so does his ego and cynicism, and he becomes increasingly unscrupulous in his pursuit of power, using his influence over the public to manipulate politics and personal relationships for his own gain.
Andy Griffith’s portrayal of Lonesome Rhodes is widely regarded as a standout performance and marks a departure from his later more affable roles in television such as “The Andy Griffith Show.” “A Face in the Crowd” is notable for its prescient examination of media manipulation and celebrity culture, which remains highly relevant today, especially with the influence of modern media platforms.
