May 19, 2024, Hozier is coming to SPAC. His third album, "Unreal Unearth" has taken the world by storm.
Much like his debut single, "Take Me to Church," his new album continues his journey of breaking the rules of being a pop star. His music primarily draws from folk, soul and blues, often using religious and literary themes and a political or social justice stance.
The new album features Hozier writing and singing lyrics in the Irish language for the first time. In an interview with The Irish Times, he said "there's so much that cannot be expressed outside of that language, that language can express that we're unaware of". The track "Butchered Tongue" refers to attempts by the British administration to destroy the Irish language through colonialism.
Joining Hozier for this special night is WEXT fave Allison Russell whose two solo albums have been extensively featured on WEXT. She was just nominated for four Grammy awards. Good luck, Allison!
