City of Albany NY’s Office of Cultural Affairs hosts the Make Music Day celebration with multiple live music events throughout the city on Saturday, June 21, 2025. Make Music Day is a one-day event where free, live musical performances, opportunities to make music and other musical events take place around the world on the longest day of the year. Musical festivities in Albany, NY are part of a global celebration of music making in over 1,000 cities inspired by France’s Fête de la Musique.

Music has been shown to strengthen social connectivity, reduce stress, lower blood pressure, stimulate memory, and is integral to a well-rounded, enjoyable life. By participating in Make Music Day, City of Albany encourage every form of music making.

Each of these participating venues are hosting free live music entertainment on Saturday June 21st:

Quackenbush Square & ParkAlbany team up with Common Roots Brewing Company & The Olde English Pub to create an outdoor music venue with live performances from The Sugar Hold, Lucid Street and The E-Block from 12:30pm to 6:00pm

Clinton Market Collective creates an interactive Kid Zone with live music performances from Ruth Pelham, Mark Rust and Albany Rock Pit. Enjoy the brand new spray pad, group instrument activities and giveaways. Maddy’s Squeeze will be on site selling lemonade. The event occurs from 12:00pm – 6:00pm

McGeary’s Irish Pub features a special full band performances from the Albany Rock Pit Showcase Band at 6:00pm

The Eleven at Lark Hall hosts live acoustic performances all day by Caity Gallagher, Lovella, Sabrina Trueheart, Kristian Montgomery, Josh Casano, Frankie Cavone, Shannon Tehya, Laura Leigh & Ky McClinton from 12:00pm – 7:00pm

University at Albany & Albany Symphony transforms Uptown Campus – Collins Circle into a musical playground & BBQ featuring live music, yard games and inflatables from 5:00pm – 8:00pm

Everydays Restaurant hosts jam sessions throughout the day. Sit in and jam with Joann Sifo, Louis Watterson, Laurie and Kenny, Lucia & Triple Entendre, Levi Byrd & Company, Rick & The Shuffle Kings from 12:00pm – 7:00pm

Paid Parking is available at Quackenbush Garage (25 Orange St.) and Riverfront Garage (2 Columbia St). Handicap parking and EV charging spaces are available at both locations, for more information on parking options, visit www.parkalbany.com.
