At Home with Wilder Woods

KC Morris begins this At Home with WEXT session with a confession to Bear Rinehart aka Wilder Woods: the first few times she listened to the infectious track Maestro (Tears Don't Lie) from the newly released album Fever/Sky, she found herself so wrapped up in the groove, she missed out on the lyrics.

On closer listen, we learn the track, and indeed many of the songs on the album, are about balancing family life and life on the road- no small feat, even for a seasoned Grammy-nominated artist like Rinehart.

In this At Home with WEXT session, we hear stripped down versions of a few tracks and discover the meaning (and necessity) behind the moniker, Wilder Woods.

Some days KC wishes she had more space in her head for historical dates, family members’ phone numbers, and directions, but alas that space is mostly occupied by lyrics to pop songs she first heard as a tween.
