Remembering Woodstock 1969: Sandy McKnight

Sandy McKnight, singer songerwriter and author of the memoir “Kid69,” came in to share some experiences he chronicled in his book.  Only sixteen years old at the time, Sandy travelled to the Woodstock festival looking for adventure!  In his interview he explains his unique perspective of the artists, along with his navigation of the festival and the surrounding area.

Sandy also brought in a program from the 1969 Woodstock Festival, originally owned by his father.  Sandy’s parents also went to the festival.  Though he and his parents did not go together, nor bumped into each other, Sandy has since inherited the program from his father, including a 3-day ticket pasted to the inside.

From a young age, Conor became fascinated by music. Conor recalls being rocked to sleep by his dad to songs such as "Superman (It's Not Easy)" by Five For Fighting and "Carolina on My Mind" by James Taylor. Today, Conor is going wherever the music takes him. He’s currently finishing up a degree in Music Industry at the College of Saint Rose with a concentration in Voice. Conor has worked in live sound, production, promoting, and hospitality, along with being a performer in his own right, but WEXT is his first job in the radio industry, and he feels he has been welcomed in with open arms!
