Celebrate the Winter Solstice with the Paul Winter Consort

WEXT

Multi-GRAMMY-winning soprano saxophonist, composer and bandleader Paul Winter and his group, the Paul Winter Consort are one of the earliest exponents of world music, even pioneering a new genre called, "Earth music." They have performed around the world, from New York's Carnegie Hall to the MiHo Museum in Japan. And there's no better place in the Capital Region to showcase their wonderous sounds than The Troy Savings Bank Music Hall. Catch their marvelous show at the Hall Wednesday, December 20th at 6pm.

We chat with Paul about moving his yearly solstice celebration from the expansive Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City to the intimate acoustic setting of the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall this year. We also check in to see how he keeps his chops up and what may be capturing his attention in 2023.
