Australian-born, Nashville-based singer-songwriter Jordie Lane released his fourth album, Tropical Depression last August. Produced by Grammy-nominated Jon Estes, the album blends Americana with 60s-inspired folk, delivering introspective lyrics infused with wit and social commentary. Tracks like “Biscuit House” humorously tackle themes such as imposter syndrome, while “The Changing Weather” reflects on climate-related disasters. Lane’s upbringing in a traveling circus and his extensive touring history enrich the album’s depth and authenticity. Tropical Depression showcases Lane’s evolution as an artist, offering a fresh perspective within the Americana genre.
