Capital Region Sponsor A Scholar Duck Derby

The 2016 Duck Derby and Back2School Fest with Capital Region Sponsor A Scholar is coming to scenic Washington Park in the heart of Albany on Saturday, September 17th at 10am. There will be an exciting duck race, live music, a mini-college fair, family-friendly activities, delicious food and more. Don't miss it!
How does it work?

You adopt a duck for $5, or adopt 5 for $20, or 25 for $100. The more the merrier!

On race day, thousands of ducks are released into the water. The ducks will race through the lake at Washington Park. The one lucky duck that crosses the finish line first will win the big prize of $1,500 provided by Sunmark Federal Credit Union.

That duck (and the prize) could belong to you!

Runners up will also win great prizes! And the proceeds from the sales of every duck helps our Scholars—providing the tutoring, college visits and support they need to succeed.

Capital Region Sponsor-A-Scholar works in Albany, Schenectady and Troy, NY to help promising, local students prepare for college success through tutoring, mentoring, college visits and personalized academic support. CRSAS has helped more than 200 local Scholars earn their college degrees in the last 20 years. Most of our Scholars are first-generation college graduates!

All proceeds from the Duck Derby support Capital Region Sponsor-A-Scholar’s college access and success programs that assist local, promising students to achieve their dreams.
Duck adoptions start at just $5. They will make a world of difference to the Scholars.
