Fantastic Cat is back with album number two, "Now That's What I Call Fantastic Cat." Who knew that the four singer-songwriters, band leaders, producers...who knew they'd actually find some success. It was not designed for that. Or was it? They're known as the "supergroup you need to know," but they try to lean away from calling themselves that. Anthony said something like "we're like Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, if nobody in that band was famous."
Mike Montali and Anthony D'Amato from the band stopped everything to chat with me about how the band formed, why the band formed, and the name... oh, yea. We talk about that name. We had a real fun time. Have a listen!
If you couldn't tell from all the materials they put out, the band doesn't take themselves too seriously, but this is serious business. And it is so cool that they do musical chairs - each member takes a turn playing each of the instruments. As they say, the songs dictate who plays and sings what. To learn more, have a listen.
To see them, find tickets at Caffe Lena's website. They're playing in town on August 10th.
