Jenny Owen Youngs dropped by on her way into town to play at Caffe Lena for the first time. She talked with us about songwriting, family, and about being a teen who had favorite artists who became parents - and her reaction. She talked about how having a child has changed her life experience. She's not sure yet how her songwriting will reflect this change, but she's excited to embark upon that process.
Jenny talked about how she felt when a song she helped write went to number one. Sure it was exciting, but you might be surprised by her reaction.
Her latest album is called "Avalanche." She's recently released a deluxe edition of the album with some unreleased material on it. We are looking forward to the new songs she has been working on, too.
