International Women's Day on WEXT

A few years ago, WEXT took to the airwaves to celebrate women in music on International Women's Day.  It's been too long, but we're bringing back this special countdown of the 200 Women Who Rock!  Today, March 8th, is #IWD2017. We start the countdown with #200 at 9am with KTG, and don't stop until we get to just ahead of 11pm with Joyce Jackey.

Some of the great women who help make WMHT and WEXT awesome will put voice to the words of speeches made by some inspirational women.  You'll hear them as we near the end of the countdown, just ahead of each of the artists in the Top Ten.  Special thanks to Jenn B., Joanne S., Kathryn D., Valerie B., Lynn V., and Keren C..  The words they recite come from "The 10 Greatest Speeches by 10 Inspirational Women" on the Marie Claire UK website.  
 
The countdown is a countdown of artists.  Some may argue why one is on the list and one is not, or why is one higher than the other, but that's the fun of any list like this. This one is designed to bring to the front the incredible art made by women - music we play.
