Chris grew up listening to his dad play the pipe organ. Chris always got into the deep bass notes. As a little boy, Chris could be found dancing in front of tiny, little stereo speakers that were playing old Simon & Garfunkel. To this day, Chris LOVES “The Boxer,” and can often be heard saying “groovy” (as in “The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin’ Groovy)”).
Chris’ epiphany moment came in the summer of 1975 when he first heard Roxy Music’s “Love is the Drug.” That was the beginning of his quest for music that had such power and emotion.
Ain’t cha got no rhymes for me? Doot-in’ doo-doo, Feelin’ groovy.

Talked with Carl Blackwood from the band Bendt. They're part of the April 5 edition of Live and Local. And they've been busy. They're making some new music for us all to rock to.

St Paul and the Broken Bones dropped by to play a show at The Egg. Lead singer, Paul Janeway took a few moments out of the schedule to chat with us about his new solo record. No worries! The band is not breaking up.

Dakota Bates is the daughter of my friend, the late, truly great, Bob Bates. I had asked if we could be treated to her playing a few songs, and to talk about the amazing legacy of her father.

Each year, the Diver Library takes down the "shhh, please be quiet" signs to rock out! The Library has had a music education component to it since Nicholas Matulis and his wife Donna Baird began running it. As part of that, they've helped many young (and older) patrons learn the art of writing songs. And then... they make them!

Oobleck release "Down the Rabbit Hole" in April.

A chance to chat with Zan Strumfeld of Zan & the Winter Folk is always welcomed. If you love Carole King, don't miss this one.

Super excited to learn that Sydney Worthley is working on a new album. We've already heard a few of the songs as she's been releasing them as singles. She and I also talked about the performance she did for the Tiny Desk contest. Plus, she's going to be with us on March 1 and May 17 for a couple shows.
