Laura Grant
WEXT Middays, ProducerLaura grew up listening to the soundtrack of her mother's childhood, which became her childhood soundtrack. Her musical journey was started by her mother and grandfather. The songs of The Beatles, Bread, America, Chicago, John Denver, Elvis, Elton John, Billy Joel... along with the smooth voices of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis filled her childhood home. To this day Laura enjoys what she calls “an eclectic mix of music.” Folk songs and 1940's jazz still make her swoon, and she'll always be a sucker for Django Reinhardt and any Bernard Herrmann score (again, eclectic!). Laura finds so much joy in discovering new artists! When she's not on the midday airwaves you can find her at local music and theatre events or enjoying her two exotic shorthair kittycats.

Ria Curley’s approach to life is summarized very well in the title track of her latest EP, Help Is On The Way. The title song originated in 2020, “I wanted to write a song of hope. Not really knowing where the help was going to come from, that’s on the way, but just sort of having faith that we as fellow human beings would overcome”.
