Ria Curley has been many things… singer, songwriter, musical theater actress, Broadway swing, Grammy nominated Associate Producer, daytime tv actress, and on a very special occasion, dance instructor to legendary actor, Jimmy Stewart.
Ria’s approach to life is summarized very well in the title track of her latest EP, Help Is On The Way. The title song originated in 2020, “I wanted to write a song of hope. Not really knowing where the help was going to come from, that’s on the way, but just sort of having faith that we as fellow human beings would overcome”.
Love is also at the forefront of Ria’s philosophical approach. She married her husband and fellow collaborator, Chuck Lamb in 2021. The preacher who married them said something that seems to truly embody Ria’s approach to life. She said, “you are so fortunate to have found this kind of love. But it’s not just about you, it’s about spreading it around”, that resonated.
Today, Ria is embracing the creative parts of herself now more than ever. She wants to embody the fun in music and art but also is taking it more seriously, in an effort to do some good and make a positive difference. She says her outlook might be deemed a little bit “frou-frou”, but I think it’s just what we need in our world.
