Alec Lewis and his band stopped by to debut three out of the four songs off the new EP, Don’t Cross Me, which came out 2/7 - coincidentally, Alec’s birthday.
The ALG is rather fledgling, together less than a year. A couple of musicians moved, and they had to regroup. As a musician and producer, Alec didn’t have to look far for his next bassist and drummer.
Their first show was back in February of 2024. Over the summer, after the new bassist and drummer joined, magic started to flow. You’d never know, based on the ALG’s chemistry, that they’ve only been playing together for only 11 months.
During our conversation Alec got very candid about the inspiration for some of his songs. There are some sobering meanings behind the lyrics of these fun, “jammy” tunes. Which makes them even more poignant, and all the more interesting.
