I had a great chat with Adirondack folk musician Josh Clevenstine on 518 Sessions. Josh talked about his latest album, "By My Fire Again: An Adirondack Album," and how a music retreat at Camp Sagamore with Adirondack legends. Dan Berggren, Peggy Lynn and Dan Duggan helped him get through a tough writer’s block. One of the most touching stories he shared was about his song “Patty’s Scribe,” inspired by a close friend dealing with his wife’s serious illness. That song brought some real healing and hope to their family.
Josh also shared new tunes like “Bartonville Thoughts,” which came from a mountain biking trip and reflects the grit it takes to live in the Adirondacks. He talked about how the region’s music, outdoor sports, and tight-knit community bring people together, even when life gets hard. Looking ahead, Josh wants to keep telling stories that celebrate Adirondack life and the friendships that form along the way.
If you love heartfelt songs and Adirondack vibes, Josh is definitely someone to watch.
