When Erin Harkes first moved to Albany, her first job was driving an ice cream truck. But even that couldn’t keep Erin from her true calling. Music started early for Erin. Her first musical endeavor was as the bass drum player in her parents' pipe band. Erin's big voice, and powerful blues driven music has helped her garner awards and perform on the Local 518’s biggest stages. Her humorous take on life between songs helped her become a stand up comedian. Whether in music or comedy, Erin is most comfortable on stage doing her thing.

Her spontaneity and willingness to perform won her a spot on “Battle of the Instant Bands” on the Jimmy Fallon show in April of 2010. Having only 20 minutes to prepare with an impromptu band made up of complete strangers, Erin won over both Jimmy Fallon and the studio audience and easily won the contest with their song, “Free Jimmy” .
