How do you know you brought about change in music? Bill Keith made significant stylistic development to the banjo and introduced a way of playing that would later be called “Keith Style”. He also invented the Keith tuning peg, which became the primary product of his own company - The Beacon Banjo Company, which is now run by his son.

Mile Twelveis made up of five of the most promising young musicians in bluegrass. They got their name from the mile marker that sits on Boston’s southern border on I-93. It is a road sign they have passed countless times when heading out on tour. We’ve seen them at the Caffe, and other venues around the 518.
