One of our favorite bands is no more, and two guys drive nearly 1000 miles from Muscle Shoals, AL to NJ.

Members of The Stray Birds have known each other since attending middle school in Lancaster, PA and started making music together in 2010. After eight years, five records and hundreds of performances, they became best known for songwriting and harmonies. In 2018, they announced their latest album along with the sad news that the band would be no longer.
Immediately after finishing his album “Thousand Mike Night”, Jonah Tolchin got behind the wheel and lived it. He drove from Muscle Shoals, AL all the way to his hometown in NJ in one straight shot, accompanied by guitarist Lucan Hamren. When they pulled into Hamren’s driveway, the odometer added 998 miles. Tolchin said his goodbyes and walked precisely two more miles to his childhood home.
