As Iz, a fixture in the Capital Region music scene since the 1980s, recently stopped by WEXT for a Local 518 Session to mark the reissue of his 1989 cassette EP. A blend of funk, folk, and raw storytelling, the EP captured the spirit of its era—and still resonates today. Digitally remastered and now available for the first time on streaming platforms, the reissue gives new life to songs that helped define As Iz’s early sound.
In the session, he played a few of the songs from EP, bringing the music full circle with an acoustic intimacy and honesty that remains his signature.
