The Diver Memorial Library’s Let’s Make a Song project is back for its eighth year, inviting local songwriters of all ages (very young to teens to adults) to create original music inspired by a shared theme. For 2025, that theme was “Color Our World,” and the results once again highlight the creativity, collaboration, and community spirit at the heart of this unique, Eddie Awarded program.
Several of the participating songwriters talked about their creative process, how they interpreted the theme, and what it means to be part of this long-running project. Each songwriter shared a few words about their own song and the inspiration behind it. We also caught up with library director Nick Matulis, who reflects on the program’s growth over eight years and its role in bringing music and the arts into the library space.
You can hear the songs created for Color Our World along with our full interview right here with this post.
