When you see Al Kash behind the drum kit, you know you're in for a treat. He's been drumming since the age of 16. Turns out it was just by chance that he sat down behind the kit.
He played with the Australian bands Fatty Lumpkin and Blackfeather. He crossed paths with Bon Scott of AC/DC in that band. There have been many path crossings that Al Kash has had. Fortunately for us here in the Local 518, he has made his home here, and he's been playing in great bands from the Local 518 off and on since the late 70s. Bands like Fear of Strangers, and more recently Playin' With Fire Band.
With so much history and so many things that Al has done, you know we had to leave a lot of things out of this interview - and honestly, that is criminal. But I think we found our way down the path to some fun and interesting things. Plus, in this interview, you'll hear a really cool drum duet with the one and only Brian Melick.
